verticle rule

Safety is our number one priority at MoDOT. We are armed with tools to ensure fast snow and ice removal.

Use of a priority system for determining what roads are cleared first will keep motorists moving quickly and safely.

Along with the traditional salt brine mixture, beet juice will be used even more this winter. Beet juice, a green solution to roadway snow removal, will enhance salt brine’s ability to work at lower temperatures. This will reduce the frequency of reapplication of material, saving MoDOT cost on materials.

Kansas City Scout cameras will monitor snowstorms, immediately relaying information on over 39 message boards located around the eight-county Kansas City district.

With 195 snow removal trucks, and 24-hour snow command, MoDOT will have no trouble keeping roads clear.
