Route 61/Route U Interchange - Iron Mountain Trap Rock Co. Job# J3P2146/J3P2146C Construct an interchange between Route U and Mette Road on Route 61; partnership agreement between MoDOT and Crossroad Centers, Inc. The work involves building a new bridge over Route 61 to carry Route U and Mette Road traffic. Ramps will be built to allow traffic off of and on to Route 61.
Location: Route 61, U and Mette Road just south of Moscow Mills-News Release Project Awarded
Work Zone Info: Most work off road with periodic lane closures for ramp work. Possible daytime lane closures at various times throughout the week.
Project Status: Project 89% complete - Weather permitting, signals, lighting and miscellaneous concrete curbs/islands, concrete barrier, outer road grading, and paving being done. Week of August 2 reparation work for Phase 4 of the project which involves completion of ramp work near Route U and Mette Road. Daytime lane closures possible on Route 61 at various times throughout the week.

The North Fabius River Bridge on US 24/61 (61 south/24 westbound) just after the exit east to West Quincy/south to Palmyra and Hannibal will be one lane with a width restriction of 13 foot, 6 inches.

US Route 24 East/US 61 North 14'6" width restriction and US Route 24 West/US 61 South 18 foot width restriction with a speed reduced to 55 mph through the area.
Project Status: 45% complete -Substructure repair, hinge modification and forming bridge deck, weather permitting.
Estimated Completion: The work should take approximately four months to complete.

On Sunday and Monday evening, crews plan to work in the northbound lanes from Route MM north to Palmyra Road, and Tuesday and Wednesday evening work in the southbound lanes from Palmyra Road south to Route MM. Slow moving traffic and minor delays should be expected.
