Cape Girardeau County Road 481 will close due to continuing construction on Route 72. This section of roadway is located between Route 72 and Market Street in Millersville. Weather permitting, the road is scheduled to close as early as next Tuesday, Jan. 20 and will remain closed until the new county road connection is built. This section of County Road 481 is anticipated to be closed through the spring of 2010. The closure is needed so the utility company can relocate a power pole near County Road 481. This work is part of the bridge replacement on Route 72. Roberston Contractors expect to start major bridge work sometime in early May.

Cape Girardeau County
Construction Projects
Apex Paving will begin overlaying the roadway and widening the shoulders on Route W in Cape Girardeau County. Weather permitting, work is expected to begin on Thursday, February 4 and last thru October 2010.
This section of roadway is located from LaSalle Avenue to Lexington Avenue.
While the work is being performed, there is a potential for traffic to be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers.
Robertson Contractors plans to start work replacing the White Water Bridge on Route 72 in Cape County. The contractor plans to lay asphalt for the temporary bypass on Monday, August 24.Weather permitting, the plan is to transfer traffic from the existing Route 72 to the temporary bypass sometime between Wednesday, August 26 and Friday, August 28. The bypass will be in place until the permanent bridge can be removed and replaced. New pavement will also be constructed to tie the roadway to the new bridge. Due to the width of the temporary bridge lanes there will be a 10 foot restriction.This section of roadway is located from County Road 350 to County Road 349. The estimated time for this job to be completed in Summer 2010.

Weather permitting, this section will take place Wednesday, March 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Madison County

North and southbound Route 67 will continue to be reduced to one lane. The contractor will be working along the shoulders to do grading and paving to connect median crossover from the new pavement to the existing pavement. Motorist may expect flagger controlled work zones with reduced speeds and an 11 foot width restriction.This section of roadway is located from County Road 401 in Madison County to Route EE in Wayne County.

Southbound Interstate 57 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane with a ten foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform pavement repairs. This section of roadway is located from Route J (7 mile marker) to Interstate 55 in Sikeston. They will also be repairing the on ramp from Route B to Interstate 57.Weather permitting, the work will take place beginning Monday, March 8 at 7:00 a.m. and will end Friday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m.
The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling in the area south of Cairo, Illinois, that starting on Monday, March 15, 2010, there will be a lane closure on US 60/62 at the Mississippi River bridge. Inspection crews will be inspecting the bridge. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Expect delays and narrow lane openings. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through as quickly as possible.Note: On March 23 and March 24, 2010, the bridge will be closed during daylight hours. Inspection crews will be using equipment that will require the closure of the bridge.Work is expected to be completed by March 25, 2010, weather permitting.
Route D in Mississippi County will be closed while MODOT crews do a pipe replacement under roadway. The section of roadway is located between County Road 325 and Route 77.Weather permitting, work will be performed Friday, March 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pemiscot County
Construction Projects
Northbound Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County will be closed with a ten foot width restriction while the contractor completes the second phase of construction. Northbound traffic will be routed onto one of the southbound lanes were traffic will run head-to-head during construction. The contractor will be replacing the existing pavement with new concrete pavement. The section of roadway that will be affected is located from one mile south of Route 164 (6.8 MM) to one half mile south of Interstate 155. The northbound ramps at Routes U and J will also be closed. Weather permitting, the work will begin 7:00 a.m. Monday, March 15 and is expected to be completed by Friday, July 30.

Perry County

PCI Roads LLC, the contractor, plans to begin work repairing the Chester Bridge on Route 51 in Perry County.Weather permitting, the rehabilitation on the Mississippi River Bridge east of Chester Illinois is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2010 and will end 5 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010.The traffic for this section of roadway will be controlled by temporary traffic signals, so there may be short delays to allow traffic from the opposite direction to pass. There will also be an 11 foot width restriction in the work zone.
Route 51-Work to improve the Route 51 bridge over Bois Brule Creek in Perry County will begin Tuesday, March 16 at 7 a.m., weather permitting. The bridge will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as work to replace the bridge deck is underway. Temporary signals will be in place. Improvements to the Route 51 Bois Brule Creek bridge are expected to be completed in July 2010.

Route M in Perry County will be reduced to one lane with a 12 foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform routine bridge repairs. This section of roadway is located from County Road 816 to Cypress Lane. Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Tuesday, March 2 thru Friday, March 5 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. Work will resume on Tuesday, March 9 thru Thursday, March 11 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.

Route 221 in St. Francois County will be reduced to one lane while MODOT crews replace pipe beneath roadway. This section of roadway is located between Beal Road and Corcoran Road. Weather permitting, work will be performed Monday, March 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Ste. Genevieve County

Route B-Work to improve Route B in Ste. Genevieve County will begin Mon., March 1 at 7 a.m., weather permitting. The project includes resurfacing and shoulder improvements from Route 32 to Route F at Coffman, as well as replacing the River Aux Vases Bridge. As the River Aux Vases Bridge is being replaced, the bridge will be closed from Eisenbeis Bottom Road to Staabtown Road. The closure is expected to begin March 1, with completion anticipated by June, weather permitting. A detour route around Interstate 55 and Route P will be marked with signs.
Route B- Widening and resurfacing work on Route B in Ste. Genevieve County will begin on Monday, March 8 at 6 a.m., weather permitting. During work, Route B will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction from Route 32 to Route F. Work zones will be flagger controlled. This portion of the project is expected to be completed by fall 2010.

Stoddard County

Route N: Work to improve the Route N bridge over Castor River in Stoddard County will begin Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 7 a.m., weather permitting. The bridge will be closed as work to replace the bridge deck is underway. The Route N bridge is just one of the Southeast District's 86 bridges included in the Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program. Improvements to the Route N Castor River bridge are expected to be completed in April 2010.

This section of road is located between Route 153 and County Road 779. Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
